Telstra Health Managing Director Elizabeth Koff AM Awarded Honorary Doctorate

On Monday 12 September 2022 Telstra Health’s Managing Director Elizabeth Koff AM was awarded a Doctorate of Letters from Western Sydney University for her contribution to healthcare in Western Sydney.

Prior to her role at Telstra Health, Elizabeth spent a large part of her career supporting the Western Sydney community including as Chief Executive of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network which incorporates the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, then as Deputy Secretary for Strategy and Resources at NSW Health and as Secretary of NSW Health – a role in which she served for six years.

In accepting the honorary award Elizabeth shared that her main career motivation was always to make a difference to the lives of others, and that health care was the area where she felt she could best achieve this goal.

Her three pieces of advice to the cohort graduating were:

  • Seize every opportunity afforded and not to be afraid to be bold and take risks.
  • Always act with integrity and know your true north; and
  • Recgonise the value of family, friends and trusted colleagues in supporting you through your career journey.

Western Sydney University confers honorary awards for individuals’ contributions to the advancement of knowledge or the betterment of society and who have achieved eminence in their field.
