The Australian Financial Review Women in Leadership awards are an evolution of the long-standing and much-loved Women of Influence programme and highlight the work and achievements of some of Australia’s key corporate decision-makers.
Koff has held significant leadership positions in both public and private healthcare settings. This includes six-years as Secretary of NSW Health, a tenure which covered the the COVID-19 pandemic, and her role as Chief Executive of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), where she initiated clinical planning for new hospital infrastructure.
Koff’s leadership and significant service to public health administration, governance and professional organisations were recognised in 2022 when she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.
After a 30-year career in NSW public health, Koff became Managing Director of Telstra Health in July 2022, where she has focused on transforming digital health from fragmented systems into seamless, integrated healthcare solutions on a global scale.
In being awarded winner of the ‘Health’ category, the judges of the awards noted:
“Elizabeth has thrived in a series of significant leadership roles. She led NSW Health with courage and conviction during the pandemic. She has also shown her versatility through a more entrepreneurial private sector role.”
Accepting the award on Koff’s behalf, Telstra Health’s Chief Financial and Strategy Officer, Marisa Ghafoor, described how Koff continues to play a significant role in shaping and guiding the future of health in Australia and globally, as a thought leader and digital health change-maker, advocating for better care experiences through digital transformation and value-based care.
