Deadline extension announced as eNRMC adoption continues 

Telstra Health’s electronic National Residential Medication Chart (eNRMC) conformant Medication Management solution is now live across Clinical Manager, MedPoint and MedMobile, designed to support safer and more connected medication management in residential aged care. 

Following successful conformance testing with the Australian Digital Health Agency and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing in early 2026, Medication Management now supports electronic prescribing as part of an integrated medication management workflow. 

This milestone supports residential aged care providers, prescribers and pharmacists to manage medication information more consistently across prescribing, dispensing and administration. 

As residential aged care providers prepare for the transition to electronic prescribing and eNRMC-conformant systems, the Australian Government has also provided additional time for organisations to complete their implementation plans. 

eNRMC implementation deadline extended 

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has announced the implementation deadline for Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) to adopt electronic prescribing conformant eNRMC systems has been extended by a further three months from 31 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. 

The extended timeframe reflects feedback from the aged care sector and software vendors recognising the significant complexity involved in migrating all resident’s medication charts and is intended to mitigate operational risks while supporting continuity of care, maintain accurate prescribing and support seamless care delivery. 

While the extended timeframe provides greater flexibility for providers, our focus remains on supporting customers through the transition so they can access more connected medication management workflows sooner.

Telstra Health’s eNRMC-conformant Medication Management solution has been designed to improve the flow and visibility of medication information across care teams, and to support safer and more efficient workflows. 

The solution is designed to support the following key outcomes: 

• improved visibility of medication and prescriber information 

• enhanced support for pharmacy dispensing workflows 

• greater consistency across prescribers, pharmacists and care teams 

• alignment with national eNRMC requirements 

• safer and more efficient medication management.
